“Real life super-heroes up there on the screen”
Drop The Mic brings to screen the story of Kieran ‘Duke’ Burns; a wrestling announcer afflicted by the rare, muscle weakening disease known as Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS).
It was filmed over 2 days at Duke’s apartment and at the Kostya Tszyu gym in Rockdale.
The use of black and white, ominous lighting and talcum powder wafting through the air adds to the drama and moody tone of ‘Drop The Mic’.
The film has won awards and screened at many festivals in Australia and worldwide, including the Academy accredited Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis. It has also gone on to broadcast on several TV channels in the US.
