Showcasing Smarter Stormwater Solutions with ACO

We had the opportunity to work with ACO to highlight an innovative stormwater solution implemented by Central Coast Council. Faced with regular flooding at an aging skatepark and car park, the council needed a sustainable and efficient way to manage stormwater.

The result? A cutting-edge system combining ACO StormBrixx® tanks and HydroCon permeable concrete pipes—the first of its kind in Australia. This system directs stormwater underground, filtering and storing it to reduce flooding, improve water quality, and replenish local groundwater.

By treating stormwater at the source, the solution minimizes environmental impact, reduces maintenance costs, and prevents damage to downstream infrastructure. It’s a fantastic example of how intelligent engineering can transform a site while supporting sustainability.
